This is our second harvest of the very very hot “Siling Labuyo” Pepper. It is confused with Birds eye chili or Thai Chili.

We got a packet of these dried chili from Goa a few years back and planted the seeds.
Very easy to grow and gives good yield. This is a low maintenance plant, at least in Maharashtra.

It ranks at 80,000 to 100,000 heat units in the Scoville Scale. Birds eye chili ranks at 50,000 – 100,000 Scoville units.
Takes a lot of patience to harvest these out from the plant. I put a plate below the chili and snipped it off with a scissor. Can’t pluck with bare hands🔥🔥🔥🔥
Once I made some cheese toast and sprinkled some finely chopped ( chopped with scissors) Labuyo Chili on the top thinking it would be tolerable and I was so so wrong 😜😜😜😜
It’s super duper Hot!! I will dehydrate and make chili powder out of it now😁
Have you tasted the Labuyo!! Let me know in the comments on how you use it?

We have a lot of these, too. They are awesome in pad thai! We locally call them siling labuyo, too. I thought that was Filipino.

Saludos.

Wow unbelievable heat factor!!!! I too like to dehydrate and powder but I use jalapeños when I do it. My husband would kill me if I cooked with those…lol

Very very easy to grow 😀 Just sprinkle some dry chili seeds in a pot full of mud and spray water. Grows very fast!!

My husband wants to grow peppers, but that looks like more space than he wants to allow. But he LOVES hot peppers.
Shaheen Reviews
That’s awesome!! Peppers do not take a lot of space 🙂 I think these are easiest to grow in the smallest of spaces 😀 😀 Thanks for dropping by!!
